“Sedona is a flower blooming in the Arizona desert. The land here is a deep red, the sky an endless blue. Between that red earth and blue sky, there flows a sacred atmosphere. Listen to the message that Sedona has. The old juniper standing tall in the golden sunset just might reveal it to you.” ~ Ilchi Lee

Dining Hall

The mission at the Mago Dining Hall is to create tasty and healthy meals that are planet friendly. To that end Sedona Mago Retreat provides guests with three delicious meals every day, offering a variety of food options at each meal to help meet your dietary needs. They recognize that each individual has different nutritional needs and we are confident that they can accommodate most people when given reasonable notice.

The meals you will enjoy in the Dining Hall contain not only the nutrients provided by the earth, but also the loving energy of the people who prepare them. Their meals are made from scratch, and their focus is on fresh. Whenever possible they source non-GMO, organic and local produce to supplement the seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables. They do not use any highly processed products at all. It is their philosophy to focus on our guest’s spiritual health and retreat experience, and therefore do not serve meat or poultry. They maintain a non-smoking and alcohol free environment for the same reason.

Dietary Needs

The Dining Hall’s buffet line labels each menu item identifying options that will meet the needs of our guests following Gluten free, Soy Free, Vegan, or Dairy free diets. With 14 days’ notice, we can expand those options. Guests with severe allergies such as nut or shellfish should contact me directly at least 2 weeks in advance so that we may ensure none of the menu options available during your stay will pose a problem.

Each guest room offers a mini refrigerator for your use. (Please note that the Retreat Centre does not allow cooking in guest rooms.) Note to Celiacs: While most of what is made and served in-house is Gluten Free, and they do their best to maintain that in their kitchen, we cannot guarantee an entirely GF environment. Mago uses a variety of sauces and mixes that can negatively impact a celiac sufferer. Please be mindful of this, and carefully read the posted menu and any/all labels available.

If you have questions, or specific needs, please be sure to let me know when you Register for this Retreat. Our primary goal is for you to truly enjoy the food, fellowship, and ambiance of the charming dining hall.

Julie Colvin

“I wanted to write a book that would reach people around the world; my priority was to learn how to do this… Thanks to my extensive groundwork, I had the tools needed to obtain an Agent & Publisher (on my first query), and become a Best Seller. I’ve since been honored to help others embarking on their journey to becoming a published author.”

Julie’s first book, A Cure for Emma, became a bestseller within days of its release sharing inspiration and hope for anyone going through adversity. Many who had shared Julie’s journey to publication via her uplifting blogs and Facebook pages began to request her help to bring their stories to life. They were moved by Julie’s tenacity to do anything that she set her mind to doing, and her dedication to doing it exceptionally well.

Lisa Fugard

“You have a unique writer’s voice and a process all of your own. You also have stories to tell. When you discover them and when you write from a place of authenticity you are in your creative power. It takes time to uncover that voice, to trust it and to experiment with it. From my own personal experience I know the wonderful alchemy that occurs when a group of like-minded writers gather together; in this safe and inspiring environment you will take bold steps in your creative journey.”

Lisa is an award-winning novelist and has been leading writing workshops for the past 16 years. From 2009 to 2012 she was a presenter in the hugely successful Hay House Writer’s Workshop.

For the past 3 years, she had the pleasure of coaching writers in Mastin Kipp’s Bali Writer’s Mastermind. She has taught at Georgian Court University in N.J. and is passionate about the writer’s craft. Lisa has helped many of her students and clients bring their manuscripts to publication. Her Hay House ebook, 21 Days to Awaken the Writer Within, is a call to trust your process as a writer and to express your unique writer’s voice.

Lisa’s novel Skinner’s Drift, published by Scribner, was a 2006 New York Times Notable Book and runner up of the 2007 Dayton Literary Peace Prize. She has published short stories in literary journals and anthologies. Her travel articles and book reviews have been published in the NY Times and LA Times.

Join Lisa, the Mago Retreat team, and myself for this rejuvenating experience. It’s the biggest step you can take toward the life you were meant to live.

Nowhere will you find an opportunity like this — abundant attention and personal guidance from industry experts on 163 acres of breathtaking grounds honouring Mother Earth’s treasure, Sacred Sedona.

You will leave this transformative retreat armed with tools to reconnect with your life and your writing.
